Volunteers Positions Needed
Volunteers are an important part of our troop family. Each of our Troop leaders and co-leaders are volunteers. Below are the positions that we need to fill to have our troop continue to run smoothly as our Girl Scout Troop continues to grow and create lifelong friendships. These volunteer position descriptions are specific to our troop and its needs. Council may have more specific requirements, but these are the expectations for those volunteers in our troop because it is what allows for flexibility and comfort level of those volunteering.

Troop Treasurer
This position requires a volunteer background check and is a one a year appointment as needed. (Troop Treasurer)
Troop Treasurer is responsible for collecting dues, field trip fees, fall product payments, and cookie payments and filling out receipts for troop leader to track in the troop expense report at meetings. They may be required to be a specific meeting during the first 15 minutes and the last 15 minutes of meetings. If this volunteer takes over the entire troop treasuring position they will need to file our troop expenses with council in June of each year. They will be responsible for reimbursements, tracking expenses, and reporting to troop leadership.
All money and receipts should be turned into the Troop Leader at the end of each meeting.
Carpool Drivers
This position requires a volunteer background check and is a one a year appointment as needed. (Troop Support Volunteer)
Volunteers will be required to transport girls to and from field trips or other events outside of our meeting locations as needed throughout the year. If you are transporting anyone other then your own child, you must have a background check completed.
Feild Trips Chaperone
This position requires a volunteer background check and is a one a year appointment as needed. (Troop Support Volunteer)
Chaperones may be required at many of our outside events. Chaperones Must have a Background Check completed. Chaperones are required to be their 10 minutes prior to event start. Check with designated troop leader. Chaperones may also be responsible for collecting permission slips from parents as they drop off scouts. Chaperones are expected to oversee the scouts as they may need to be broken into smaller groups. Communicate with troop leaders and NOT be on cell phones during events. If your scheduled to be a chaperone at an event, you must give troop leadership adequate cancelation notice of 24 hours in order to find a backup as necessary as we have a MUST maintain ratios at events for safety.
Recruitment Support
This position requires a volunteer background check only if they will be dealing directly with girls at events and is a one a year appointment as needed. (Troop Support Volunteer)
Volunteer is expected to assist with filling out forms during first meeting that scout attends, and answering any questions that they might have. Any questions they cannot answer they will direct to troop leader for further assistance.
Service Project Coordinator
This position requires a volunteer background check only if they will be dealing directly with girls and is a one a year appointment as needed. (Troop Support Volunteer)
This position is responsible for communication with our service project contacts and troop leaders. They will set up our service projects and provide the details to the troop leaders. Requests for additional calendar dates if needed to complete our projects.
Event Planner Commitee
This position requires a volunteer background check and is a one a year appointment as needed. (Troop Support Volunteer)
This committee can be one volunteer or a few volunteers. Volunteer(s) are responsible for the following:
High Award Assistants
This position requires a volunteer background check and is a one a year appointment as needed. (Troop Support Volunteer)
They will be required to be at High Award Meetings at least 10 minutes prior to start.
They will assist the troop leader or level leader with leading girls through their Bronze or Silver Award as needed.
They will assist in driving scouts to various locations as needed and helping with supplies.
They will assist in coordinating a schedule with the troop leader/level leader to ensure scouts can complete their Award.
Cookie Booth Assistants(s)
This position requires a volunteer background check and is a one a year appointment as needed. (Troop Support Volunteer)
This committee can be one volunteer or a few volunteers. Volunteer(s) are responsible for the following:
Website Designer
This position is updating our website and troop newsletters on a monthly basis. This position does not require you to be registered with the troop.

- Assisting Troop Leader with Booth schedules. (ex. making sure the booths are staffed)
- Assisting with transportation to and from cookie booths as needed
- Providing additional support at booths that may need more scouts.
- Making sure scouts are following booth protocols.
- Assist with pickup of cookies or sorting of cookie orders
- Assist with the collection of initial orders during January meeting.
- Assist with sorting out cookie orders
