As we move from Daisies to a mix of Daisies and Brownies we will continue to focus on learning the Girl Scout way in a safe and fun learning environment.
We will en-corporate more hands on and S.T.E.A.M components into our meetings. We want to do lots of fun and learning events that will include all girls at every grade level. Some events may need to be paid for by parents if our fundraising goals are not met. We encourage all girls to participate in all our events, but we understand that schedules change and things come up. Your daughter will reap the benefits of friendship, learning, and growing in our troop and we look forward to another wonderful year with our scouts. During our first scouting year we worked on all of our daisy petals and two finance levels. We participated in council events, cookie sales, and boothes. We learned the Girl Scout Law and Promise.
The girls voted and it was unamious that we would go horseback riding with out cookie money proceeds. We participated in the Cupcake Wars and one of our girls won the Daisy level prize. Our girls were super excited to have our sister win. We walked in the local Cool Yule parade as well as went to the Cookie Rally at Legoland. We had a troop movie afternoon to see the Lego Movie 2. In the spring we had our first hiking event. We ended our year with a troop pizzia party at the park and attended the Council Camp at Camp Hallow for a one night trip. |
AuthorHi, I am Amy and I am the Troop Leader for Troop 76961. I started this page as a way to help families in our community learn quickly how they can join girl scouts in our area. I was not given the opportunity to be a girl scout as a child and I decided to lead my daughters troop to make sure that she and her friends had a troop at our school that would work for them. I am enjoying being the troop leader and I glad I finally get to be a girl scout with my daughter. 2024 marks the start of my 7th year leading our troop on fun adventures. Archives
